Get Assistance

The Speakers Bureau budgets a portion of its funds to cosponsor speakers brought by other campus groups. If your organization wants to bring a speaker to campus, please do not hesitate to contact us; our community relations officer will be happy to answer your questions and assist you with the application process.

The agreement and application to request cosponsorship funding can be found at mygroups2.stanford.edu. Please read the guidelines in the agreement carefully. To have your application considered at our Monday night meeting, it must be submitted by Monday at noon. Both electronic and hard copies must be submitted; see the application for submission details. We are now accepting cosponsorship applications for the 2008-2009 academic year.

Please note:

  • Applications must be received 14 days in advance of the event.
  • We can only fund the actual speaking event costs of your program (i.e. honoraria, speaker travel, auditorium costs, but not reception expenses such as food or facilities costs for receptions, etc.) We will consider funding basic publicity costs on a case-by-case basis.
  • We cannot fund more than 50% of the above costs. We also cannot fund speakers that are affiliated with Stanford University.
  • The Speakers Bureau limits funding to $1,000 for an event and limits groups to $1,500 per academic year. However, the Speakers Bureau very rarely provides the full $1000 for any single event.

If the details of your event change after your application has been accepted, please let our community relations officer know as soon as possible. We will publicize your event based on the most recent information you have provided us.
